mountainforest (111), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 15, 2006 I had to lower overall because it peaked on all other categories. one of my favorite beers. carmel malt, full body, dark look, no aftertaste but strong flavor. can’t wait to find it on tap. will continue to buy my share. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 14, 2006 Carmel and molasses notes and lack of hops do not work for me. A well crafted ale in a style I do not favor. Not too sweet. A boosy flavor that goes beyond the alcohol content. Concurrently both bitter and sour. Same-old reserved label with just lettering and fancy bottle I see out of England-- subtle like the brews but also a little pompous. The english ales and some stouts never seem very heavy. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 11, 2006 Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt.
