Jan 15, 2006 Updated: Jan 17, 2006Bottle. Black Brown bear with a lset o real tan bubbles. Banana rum aroma. Meaty roasted malt with a light banana note. Quite refreshing and quaffable for its darker, roasted malt quality. I would buy a well priced case of this in a snap.

Jan 14, 2006 Midway between a bitter and an old ale, I would say. Coffe and toffee from the malt, grass and resin from the hops. Fruits, too - raisins and apples.
Very drinkable - a complex and interesting ale.

Jan 13, 2006 Pours a rather dark brown with a lovely thick light caramel head. Slightly fruity aroma with hints of apple and banana. Roasted malts dominate the flavor with a bitter finish. Thin bodied and sort of boring but passable. Definitely overpriced.

Jan 6, 2006 bottle - Pours dark brown with a medium head. Nice caramelly, malty aroma. Flavor is mostly that of roasted malts with a decent mouthfeel and a slight bitterness in the finish. I was hoping for a bit more complexity in the flavor than I found and a bit sharper finish. However, I may have to resample... my palate is a bit off from a nasty coffee burn. heh...

Jan 5, 2006 Bottled. Pours dark brown with a bit of a reddish hue. Wispy tan head that glistens back down the side of the glass when it’s swirled. Malty aroma with brown sugar and chocolate notes. Malty and smoky with tons of roast and chocolate flavors. There’s a good bit of fruit character as well. Surprisingly bitter. Dry finish. Very carbonated.

Dec 27, 2005 NICE JOB! poured out an almost black color with very nice red highlights. nice thick creamy beige head. nose consisted of chocolate, roasted barley, caramel, coffee, vanilla, and did i mention chocolate? smokey taste, with chocolate, caramel, and a faint hinit of burnt sugar. EXCELLANT! very nice job, will defenitely purchase again.

Dec 24, 2005 Bottled. Pours dark red-brown with a tan head, leaving nice lacing on the glass. The aroma has fruit tones, hops, and malt, as does the initial flavor. Sweet up front, very matly, with hints of whiskey with a nice tinge of hops to the finish. Medium palate with a bit of fizziness. A great ale!
