Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Bottle from Tesco. Dark brown with reddish hints and a decent, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit and a touch roasted malt. Sweet flavour with plenty of fruit, molasses and earthy hops. Good.

Fluffy light brown head on a dark brown body. Roasted malt along with little hop and flower in the aroma. Mostly sweet with notes of brown sugar. Sweet toffee, malt and chocolate flavor. Some fruit also. All right but too sweet and cloying in the long run.

[750-20071010] 500mL. Faint floral malt aroma with hints of something darker, like chocolate or coffee notes. Clear, dark dark red body with a long-lasting foamy light tan head. Musty woodsy pine notes and something earthy in the flavour. Medium body is thinner than expected. Yes, it is "subtle and heart-warming" as promised, interesting to try.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma is of grains and a strange, but enjoyable, fruitiness as well. Nice malty taste, some roasted notes, all with a fizzy bitterness. That sentence doesn’t do it justice, but there is a unique quality to this beer that stands out. Would be very interested to see how this compares to the cask version. Thanks jercraigs.

Bottle: NIce malty aroma. Fruit, toffee, and rum. Dark reddish-brown with semi-transparency when held to the light. Nice off-white head with very good retention. Fruit up front increases in the finish. Nuttiness and rum make their presence in the finish too. Light fruity aftertaste.

Pours to a brown body with a thin and rapidly dissipating light tan head. The flavor is interesting to say the least. Lots of dried dark fruits like figs and dates with some light raisins and bananas thrown in the mix. A roasted malt fills the back-end. The palate is carbonated and medium bodied. The aroma is dried banana chips and something like a holly wreath or other Christmas plant.

Had it from the bottle. Hints of granola, oatmeal, brown sugar, alcohol, malt. Small, light-brown head that smelled like Twizzlers. Soft carbonation, light body. Sweet start and finish with hints of wort. Enjoyable.

On the pour looked black in color, hold glass to the light and you get a ruby red color to the body. Had thin tan head that disipated. Good carbination. At first wiff thout it was wine. Alcohol was the flavor till half way though the glass it was of a fruit flavor. Good beer glad someone allready had it and gave this one to me.
