An all round winner :)
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 jd543 (124) - SCOTLAND - MAY 24, 2013
Dark red colour with a light tan/beige head. Aroma is of nutty, biscuit malt, dark fruit. Taste is overly sweet. Texture is very creamy. Pretty average beer, a bit too sweet for my liking.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jfb (2612) - GERMANY - MAY 22, 2013
(cask) pours a clear dark ruby colour with a frothy light beige head. aroma of raisins, herbal hops, strawberries, pumpkin, bread dough, mango and a hint of higher alcohols. flavour is mostly the same, chestnuts, yeast and bread dough dominant, quite fruity and slightly alcoholic. medium to heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 subcombicio (95) - marghera, ITALY - APR 1, 2013
Meglio della versione in bottiglia. Il giudizio resta simile ma con il quasi dolce iniziale che è attenuato rispetto alla bottiglia e l’amaro più intenso, anche se sempre dentro lo stile inglese. Spinata in pompa.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 allmyvinyl (79) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 9, 2013
Just a lovely pint. Warming and comfortable. For when you want something that says ’quality English beer’.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 berkshirejohn (3648) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2013
Cask at the Stag & Hounds, Binfield, Berkshire. Dark chestnut in colour with a cherry red glow and a thin beige top; fruity aroma; sweet dark fruit flavour - almost like Vimto - at first, then revealling a soft, soild, caramel malt body; followed by a gentle bitterness and a warming biscuity finish. An excellent example of a winter beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Imaena (848) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 30, 2012
I love when I find this on cask. This is a top 10 widely available British brew for me. Unique and enjoyable every time.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DandyLion (225) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2012
Gravity @ Clarendon, Leicester. Maybe it's because of my unsophisticated palate, but a lot of beers I have heard described as nutty I can't taste the nuts. This is nutty though. And like UNsalted nuts I'm not sure if I like it but it is also at the same time delicious! Moreish and maybenice! I THINK I like it.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 bdunhill (197) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 24, 2012
With a nutty wine like aroma and an amber red color with a perfect white and frothy head this Strong English Ale has so many unique attributes that you can’t even define it. The taste is smooth to the tongue like a dry wine and yet has an abrupt palate that leaves you craving for more. It is simple but yet complementary to most any meal that you could imagine. Its an ale that the English should be proud of and make more of!
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 a_cross (346) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2012
Black with reddish hints; thin slightly smooth off white head; pleasant aroma of yeast, dark fruit; smooth roasted malt, dark fruits, liqourice and a slight caramel sweetness; reassuringly old fashioned, in tip top condition at the similarly reassuringly old fashioned Old Windmill, Coventry.
