Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier's fermentation process.

Pours a dark redish brown with little head that quickly dissapears. Malty flowery aroma. Tastes of coffee/dark fruit. Good commercial ale. You can pick it up at most supermarkets.

Bottle from 2006.. Again, I’ll agree to the interesting color. I didn’t get near the head (retention) as in the picture (then again, it came from the bottle). Description says ’banana notes’, while there is a bit of subtly in the fruit, I wouldn’t describe it as banana. Could use a bit more body. malty/fruity. (Dried fruit aroma and flavor.) It has just a hint of roastiness in the finish.

It had an aroma of a musty, damp castle room. Nice flavours of rum, raisin and vanilla with a hint of smoke. The palate was vinous. The finish was of an oak-like, alcoholic malt. Not my kind of thing but nice none the less.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin head. Leaves no lacing on the glass. There is a faint aroma of sweet and banana. Taste is not a lot. Thought this beer would be a lot better. Decent at best.

Almost black pour with a thin head. Not much on the nose but a faint sweet malt aroma. Taste is off to me, may be a bad bottle. Almost a soapy taste.
