cluny6 (65), Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England Oct 5, 2007 Updated: Jan 13, 2008 Pours a dark redish brown with little head that quickly dissapears. Malty flowery aroma. Tastes of coffee/dark fruit. Good commercial ale. You can pick it up at most supermarkets.
ucusty (1077), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle from 2006.. Again, I’ll agree to the interesting color. I didn’t get near the head (retention) as in the picture (then again, it came from the bottle). Description says ’banana notes’, while there is a bit of subtly in the fruit, I wouldn’t describe it as banana. Could use a bit more body. malty/fruity. (Dried fruit aroma and flavor.) It has just a hint of roastiness in the finish. AndrewC (40), Canterbury, Kent, England Sep 4, 2008 It had an aroma of a musty, damp castle room. Nice flavours of rum, raisin and vanilla with a hint of smoke. The palate was vinous. The finish was of an oak-like, alcoholic malt. Not my kind of thing but nice none the less. MrAleman (78), guildford, Surrey, England Sep 2, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Yeah pretty nice beer this one. Interesting all round taste and well worth having again. dwaggs2 (93), Warrensburg, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a thin head. Leaves no lacing on the glass. There is a faint aroma of sweet and banana. Taste is not a lot. Thought this beer would be a lot better. Decent at best. jrmac (129), USA Aug 26, 2008 Almost black pour with a thin head. Not much on the nose but a faint sweet malt aroma. Taste is off to me, may be a bad bottle. Almost a soapy taste.
