COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
First brewed in the 1980s.
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

thin and plain, but it does have a nice English pub quality that can make this a great multiple session beer. good malts with a very thin palate. low hops but it is not necessary.

The aroma is mild and sweet with malt and grassy hops. The appearance is orange brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth.

500ml bottle, very lively on opening (head spurted aal ower!) Damp bread aroma, white head, brown body head disappated quite quickly. Easy to drink, caramel flavour, above average carbonation. Strangely, it’s not particularly like anything, but it’s not that different to lots of bitters either. Better than "better than no beer at all", but not good enough to command your attention.

the aroma of this beer is very bready with a bit of roastiness in in as well It pours a light amber color that is pretty clear. It tastes a little sweet with a bit of hop bitterness to balance out the beer and enough flavor to keep me coming back for another sip. It is an easy drinking beer that is medium bodies with a oily texture. Overall this is a decent stab at the style. Not my favorite style, thats for sure, but one of the better Bitters out there.

Pours a two-finger cream head that fades very slowly leaving a very good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Malty nose and flavor is a smooth caramel, expecting a lot more hops. $2.85 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Poured a slightly brownish orange color with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is sweet with light malts. Some skunk. Taste is thick and malty with some caramel and earthy notes. Some cereal and bread. Aftertaste is sweet too with some light fruit. Slight bitterness throughout. Overall decent.

Pours a nice, clean brown body with a quickly dissipating head. Smells a bit like dried fruits and caramel, suggesting lightly roasted malts and a touch of hops. The initial flavor is malty, but the carbonation gives way to a nice and dry hop character with a subtle orange peel twang. Metallic, almost; There is a refreshing and distinctive bitter/dry background throughout the tasting that is both unique and pleasant.
