COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
First brewed in the 1980s.
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

[500ml bottle, The Bottle, York] Reddish ruby colour with a decent white head. Musty fruity aroma from the Fuggles. Good balance of malt on the palate – some bitterness but a decent amount of fruity sweetness, with a rich finish. Touch of caramel and toffee as well. Not as complex as Old Peculier but more immediately drinkable [17062008]

Bottle from the Cromwell Road Sainsbury. Pours amber with a 3 finger coarsely creamy white head. Aromas of malt and overripe light stone fruit. Med + body. Flavor is malt with some nice fruit bitter. All rather dark, not light, fresh. So it’s not a fast drinker. Drinks well though.
