COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Regular;
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

Meglio della versione in bottiglia. Color rosso rubino si fa bere facilmente e ha delle note leggermente maltate che risultano piacevoli.

First tasted this in the Crown Hotel, Windemere in june 1988. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear dark amber in colour with a thick white head. Spicy hints of nutmeg notes in the short hoppy aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a fiery digestive biscuit base with tart marmalade, glycerine fruits and gingerbread notes full in the mouth. Bitter hop resins impart a dry spicy overtone to the long aftertaste. Finish is malty with tangy fruit notes of sultanas and orange peel flavours sweet and spicy in the mouth. An excellent session bitter.
