COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Regular;
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

Cask at The Lion Inn, North York Moors. Pours a clear orange-amber with an average size lasting creamy white head. Nice lacing. Aroma’s mild, sweet and fruity. Flavour’s also sweet, lightly hoppy with some fruit and a light dry bitter finish. Average bodied. Decent enough but I’m getting tired of Bitters, do they make anything else here?

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street ’Spoons. Boring mid borwn colour. Subtle aroma of hazelnut and apple. More apple in the flavour leading me to think this may not be in the best condition. Quite sweet and malty with some tobacco and an uneventful finish. Rather boring.

Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy orange-brown beer with a thick dense yellow head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of berries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of honey, leading to a dry end with notes of berries. A bit boring.

[CASK: The Salisbury Ale House, Manchester 24/06/06] A fine tasting ale and an improvement compared against Theakstons Best. The stronger % makes me enjoy this ale. Not a bad flavour and not an unpleasent taste.

No head, dark brown body, quite dry and full of hops. Little touch of fruit tang, dry finish. Enjoyable pint.

Cask@The Lamb Inn, Grasmere. Reddish beer with a light head. The aroma is dry and fruity and the flavour is berry fruity, vinous and dry. Overall a nice fruity dry beer.

Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Thin watery caramel and suprisingly flavourless hops in the finish. Not good.
