COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Regular;
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

Theakston XB..... what can I say. Whenever I cast my eyes over a parade of hand pumps and see the crimson X and ruddy B standing boldly on the cerulean background I feel like a child waking on easter sunday and finding a room full of chocolate. This ale is so smooth it could be describes as liquid silk. this chestnut beauty has a mild malt flavour that combined with its delectable smoothness unfortunately lends itself to all day binges. This ale is guaranteed to make one sanguin

Cask at the Beech Tree, High Wycombe. Amber with a small white head. Faintly sulphurous, dominated by caramel, overly sweet and with a slightly slimy mouthfeel. Grim.

Cask at Theakston Brewery, Masham, September 2013. Light gold, clear. Sweet, hops, wine and a little candy aroma, mildly bitter taste, nutty sensation on the tongue and a little wine-like sourness. Light-to-medium body, delicate bitter finish.

Good standard bitter with a light malty finish, not my favourite session bitter as it’s not that memorable

Soft bready malt, low carbonation, some caramel and malt. Not too much hop character but a decent enough session beer.

Fruity nose, with some brown sugar and bitter hops in the background. Metallic hints on the tongue, solid enough malty backbone, with caramel flavours. Ripe fruit finish, with dryness late on.

Meglio della versione in bottiglia. Color rosso rubino si fa bere facilmente e ha delle note leggermente maltate che risultano piacevoli.

Cask. Bronze ale. Thick white head. Lemon cake on the nose. More lemon and malt in the taste. Really light and pleasant. Not too bitter and a good quaffer. Warming finish.
