Less malty than their pils. Maltier than their lager, and less nasty too. Nothing really positive to say though.

Clear dark brown amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, caramel, light roasted and nutty, toffee notes, moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, nutty bitter, malt sweets bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110521]

Herb-malziger, deutlich blecherner Antrunk. Das Malz ist durchgängig erkennbar, wird aber vom Blech überstimmt. Imemrhin etwas würzig, zum Ende angenehmer. 7/9/7/8//8

Bottle. Dark brown with red tint and a thin head. Like the pils, has a cardboard aroma. But also has some dark malt character. Flavors have molasses. Thin but otherwise fine and the flavors do have some subtlties like dates, honey, toast, and dark fruit.

Bottle. Chestnut colour. Toasty with some interesting caramelized sugars. The taste is a bit thin, with light molasses/caramelized character. Uneventful out of the bottle, not sure if they tap it.

Bottle, 4.7% bought at the brewpub. Dark brown colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour starts off a bit metallic, but then turns roasted. A little cardboardy, not so clean.

A bottle tasted at One Pint Pub. Dark reddish brown colour. Thin pale head. Mild taste. Malty taste with roasted maltiness. At the end mild hoppiness.

Bottle at the German beer festival at One Pint, Helsinki. Very chocolatey, smoky, toffee aroma. Good colour, dark brown with a small beige head. Taste butter, herbs, some metal. Satisfying for a German beer.

Bottled. Dark amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is hops, malts and some mildly roasted hints. Flavour is metallic, malty, hayish and a bit vegetably. Refreshing, but nothing very special.

Ruby red color, small white head. Grassy hoppy aroma. Grassy hoppy, bitterish flavor - lacking dunkel’s roast and vienna’s sweetness. Hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste.
