COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ales are traditional, highly fermented and very distinctive. This Strong Ale with a deep amber-red colour is produced only with first choice malts which give it a characteristic sweet taste. Rich in creamy froth it leaves a pleasant aftertaste of hops. It is a typical strong beer and can be best enjoyed with strong and sharp flavoured food.

Another one of heavy’s (thanks!)
Poured a brown-amber body with a small white head. Carrot, dust light honey in the nose and something I can’t decypher. Fruity malty taste, light crappy yeastiness. Ok.

330 ml bottle. Amber body with a small tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, dry fruit and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, some bitterness and alcohol. Quite ordinary and a bit out of balance, to strong on alcohol.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.5%. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head of good retention. Sweetish aroma of caramel, molasses and raw alcohol. The fairly sweet flavour has also notes of caramel and molasses, hints of dark dried fruits and liquorice. Too moderate hops. The alcohol is not well hidden.

28/08 0.33 l bottle from Coop store, Gradisca d’Isonzo. It poured copper body with smaller head. Caramel malty and a bit alcoholic aroma. Slightly bitter, alcohol biting flavor, malty in honey and overripe peach way, being sweetish on that side. Medium body with sharp and crude fruity finish. A bit boring and quite a disappointment, like on almost all of their other beers, after I tried their pale ale which was great.

330ml bottle carried all the way back home from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Has got a super clear, amber-brown body topped by a creamy, fast fading, off-white head. Spotty lace. Caramel malts to the nose, almost candy sweet. The flavour is also very sweet with notes of chocolate and brittle caramel. Hints of bitter malts to the ending. Soft in the mouth with unmasked alcohol. Medium bodied. Has got its moments of joyful drinking (Tromsø, 10.06.2011).

Beautiful amber color. Malty aroma and flavor, maybe too sweet and too high wood sensation, like mature/oxydized wort…

Botella. Clear amber brown colour. Fair head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Sweet toasty malty and bitter caramellic flavour with some alcohol. Thanks Jesper.

0.33 L bottle purchased @Vinmonopolet, Vika. Tall beige big-bubbled head. Clear, reddish-amber body. Smells quite good, marzipan and pistachio, with notes of fruit candy and alcohol. Taste has a light harsh sweetness, both from the alcohol and the malts. Notes of malt drops and candied fruits. Hard to detect the hops. Medium full, sticky texture. Sweet, kind of artificial fruity and malty finish. Raw and unrefined.
