COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

[Sampled in 2005.] Nice brew of vienna-stylle with some freshness and sourness in its flavor

Bottle at home. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium off-white head. Some malt in the aroma with cooked vegetables, some sweet malt, caramel and leather. More leather and wood in the flavour with some alcohol. Slick and light mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. Not a very exciting beer. A light and a bit strange taste and aroma.

average creamy frothy off white head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. sparkling thin amber body. aroma: heavy malty, dark bread, caramel, milk chocolate, cask wood. if and ff: light sweet bitter; average duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation metallic finish. 25 skol Nota: espuma se torna cremosa após assentar, parecida com a de uma irish ale, sabor amadeirado, saboroso, mas não traz o amargor de lúpulo pungente e característico de boas vienna q provei anteriormente

Quite drinkable and well made, malty and sweet but dry in the finish, soft mouthfeel and nice earthy malt low notes lingering in the finish. Aroma is sharp and worty, toasty and lifted by a touch of floral hops. Only slight dodginess is the weird black banana (chess set) flavour in the aftertaste. Nice head that settles in little icefloes, Czech style. In fact reminds me of Czech polotmaves.

Pours a clear dark amber color, topped with an average-sized of-white head. Mild malty aroma, caramel, and slightly grassy later on. Sweet malty at the start, caramel present, mild bitterness in the finish, slight grassy feel in teh aftertaste. Not bad, drinkable, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Bottle. Pours caramel amber, with a nice creamy head. Aroma is toffee, with notes of straw and some, not unpleasant, yeast. Full bodied, with medium carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts, caramel, toffee, syrup and bread.

BB 070415. Poured a clear dark amber with a one- to two-finger light tan/off white sudsy head that retained well and laced poorly. Carbonation very low and fine. Aroma of sweet caramel and malt. Taste of roasted malt that produced a sour acidic bitterness. Light body. The tart bitter finish was not good.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 330ml bottle served in a Weizen glass. A: Pours an absolutely clear copper color forming a medium creamy and thin bubbled beige head. Medium retention and quite a lot of spotty, lingering and a bit soapy lacings formed and left around the glass S: Sweet caramel and crystal malts in the nose. Very earthy. I like it. Flowery hops in the end T: Sweet caramel in the upfront. Notes of caramel and crystal malts. Evident bready and very earthy low fermentation yeasts. Malty and crispy and very smooth and easy drinking. Mild hoppy bitterness that fits to the style M: Light and bit molasses body. Medium carbonation. Malt and caramel in the aftertaste O: Smooth and easy drinking beer. Simple and very honest. Much better than the italian macro breweries’ offers [ BA Review @ 10/28/2013 ]

Brandy in colour with a suprisingly large head. Aroma of malbec wine and caramel. A battle for dominance in the mouth. One second its fruit, the next sour hops, the next sweet malt. They just don’t want to balance each other out. The joyful nose saves this one from disaster.
