COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Clear bronze body, medium foamy head. Smells of dark malts and that now-familiar sour-ish aroma (yeast, I’m guessing) so typical of the Vienna lager style. Taste is dark malts and some harsh, semi-metallic tones which doesn’t exactly cater to my palate. Hints of toffee. Not a very good Vienna.

Allen (2674) - SWITZERLAND - JUN 20, 2007
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a nice light amber coloured beer with a rather quick diminishing white head. Dominating aromas of caramel, some nice hops, bread and hay-like elements. Lots of caramel in the taste which is rather sweet and malty. This beer has a good mouthfeel. Sweet malty finish. There’ s nothing really interesting about this vienna, it’s just a decent brew. A bit boring. RERATE. (additional comments): Very pleasant. Hints of peanuts. Wonderful candy-like components.

Bottle: Red, amber color, white creamy head, quickly diminishing. Sweet aroma, malt and toffee notes, molasse. Flavor is malty, caramel, toffee. Metalic hops in the end. Bitter, light herbal finish. Pleasant brew.

330ml bottle. Pours with a nice tidy dense head of beige foam that leaves some lacing on the glass. Colour is deep amber and malt and barley aromas dominate in the nose. Full flavoured with a strong malt falvour profile.

Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 23, 2011
0.33l bottle. Pours a clear orange body with a small off-white sidesticking head. Aroma is mildly dark malty, some light hops, thin caramel and some brown sugar. Has a watery mouthfeeling and is softly carbonated. Mild caramel flavors with some dark malts some notes of licorice. Unfortunately it has a slightly unpleasant metallic aftertaste. One of the weakest from Theresianer if you ask me.
