COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

330ml bottle. Pours with a nice tidy dense head of beige foam that leaves some lacing on the glass. Colour is deep amber and malt and barley aromas dominate in the nose. Full flavoured with a strong malt falvour profile.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 5.3%. Deep golden to amber colour, large white head. Moderate aroma of malts and caramel, a hint of chicken manure(!). The flavour has also some malts and caramel, and is otherwise bland and boring, nearly void of hops.

Bottle, bought @ Raphaels Kolding.
Clear copper pour with a large, staying, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, sugar, light milky chocolate, mild piney. High carbonation, dryish and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, some caramel, still quite a bit of this rather artificial milky chocolate note. Some slight bitterness and a metallic edge.

Sødmerik lukt med preg av karamellmalt, humle, nøtter, litt gras og toffee. Sødmerik smak med preg av karamellmalt, humle, sukker, nøtter og høy. Middels bitterhet og lengde. Kjedelig.

Bottle from an Italian restaurant. Pours a clear amber color with a fairly thick off-white head on it. Nose is actually pretty nutty to me, and was a little inviting. Taste was slightly toasty, but not overly flavorful. Decent drink, but pretty forgettable.

330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Clear amber body, two-finger beige head, spotty lacework. Smell of grainy malts, mid-sweet. Brittle caramel in flavour, next to candy sweet. Short lived ending with malts that are more sour than bitter. Drinkable, though (Tromsø, 12.06.2011).

Bottle. It pours a more or less clear body, golden in color and with a dense, off-white head. Butterscotch and some fruityness on the nose, some citrusy hints. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Also the flavor has a distinct butterscotch, with fruityness and some citrus. A touch of bitterness too, towards the end. Certainly not my kind of beer, especially the butterscotch drives me away. 111123
