3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a growler from the brewer, at Lincoln wine bar. Thanks! Medium orange beer--large bubble head. There’s lots of hop character to this--pine and grapefruit, a bitter finish. It’s a kind of thin body though for this big of a beer--the malt backbone doesn’t really hold up the hops so it gets a little unbalanced and harsh. But a good beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2012 F-Bomb IPA, on tap at Third Base. Brewed with Falconer’s Flight and Falconer’s Flight 7 C’s. Clear medium orange with a one finger off-white head, and fair retention. Lots of tropical citrus up front, and light toasty biscuit malt behind. Flavor follows suit, but no caramel malt or sweetness. A bit perfumey as it warms. Nice dry hopped notes. Dry finish with a bitterness peaking at a 6, no alcohol. Medium body with light to mod carbonation. I pretty tasty. 8-4-8-4-15--3.9

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at the brewpub. The body is medium bronze and hazy topped with a thin khaki head. The nose had lots of grapefruit up front along with some bread crust. There is also a little bit of wood. The taste is very bitter grapefruit up front with some pine in the boozy finish. This a solidly made big IPA. Another winner from Third Base.
