Commercial Description:
Supposedly only brewed for festivals as the high alcohol is illegal. Oatmeal stout aged with oak chips, bourbon, and vanilla. Need we say more about this fest-only beer?

GTMW 2007. Poured black, but had hazy red highlights when held up to the sun. Head was off white. Aroma was of chocolate and malty cereal grain with a hint of cream. Medium bodied and delicately sweet on the tongue with chocolate truffle, singed bread, and subdued caramel. Didn’t really detect much in the way of oak, but there was some light bourbon. Not bad.

On tap at GTMW. Poured a hazy deep brown with a tall, creamy beige head. Aroma picked up sweet roasted chestnuts and caramel with drier roasted cocoa behind.. also some marshmallow sweetness that was rather odd, but I like marshmallows. Semi-sweet roasted chocolate and caramel in the flavor department surrounded by light woody bitterness and vanilla.. bourbon makes a presence, but remains firmly entrenched in the background.. sweet and tasty.. not too complex.. long, sweet finish. Medium-bodied and quite sweet on the palate with decent balance.. hid that illegal 10% Iowa booze well.

Great Taste on tap. Dark color. Smell of bourbon, chocolate, malt, brown sugar, light coffee, caramel and some vanillia. Taste of bourbon, chocolate, oak, vanilla and burnt caramel. It smelled better that is tasted. Something was off in this one. When I finished it it tasted like beef jerky.

GTMW 2007. The beer pours to a murky mahogany body with a small creamy tan head that mostly dissipates. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, and marshmallow, with graham crackers and smoke. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, marshmallow, charred wood, vanilla. The palate is medium-light with a dry oily and medium astringency.
