Sledge Jr (2585), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 15, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a light reddish colored amber with the ubiquitous thin white head of all the beers served here. This has a displeasing harsh bitter taste that is more burnt than toasted. Horribly watery like most of the beers served here. General_Gao (2238), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 27, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Advertised as 22 IBU’s. Poured a clear amber color. Head was off white and reduced relatively quickly into a thin film. A nice curtain of lace was left on the glass at the end. Smelled of malty brown sugar with light sprucy hops in the background. Malt also dominated the flavor with subdued caramel and brown sugar notes. There was also a hint of black tea and a delicate cereal grain aftertaste. I didn’t taste or smell any peated malt in this one, but it was pretty good.
