Aroma is tart cherry, dried fruit, lighter than expected. Appearance is a mix between red and brown, light brown head. Taste is better than aroma, lots of cherry followed by dried fruit, figs, malt. Mouthfeel is great, some carbonation but a great mouthfeel with not too much booze burn. Overall, very very good.

From notes. Finally getting around to adding beers from the Ypsi Summer Beerfest! Enjoyed on July 25. The pour is a dark reddish brown with a thin ring of light khaki head and some light lacing. The aroma is big on caramel and a good vanilla from the bourbon barrel. There is a light cherry and some strong malt on the back end. The flavor is a little bit like molasses mixed with cherries, with a side of caramel. There isnít much of a barrel note, other than a light vanilla. There is a heay booziness on the back end. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with a light carbonation and some lovely lingering boozy fruity notes.

On tap at Maduro GTMW Eve Party - Pours murky brown with red highlights--filmy head. Nose is sweet syrupy malt, caramel, cherry, and some boozy heat. Taste is smooth sweet malt and cherry upfront with booze and bitterness on the finish. Slick and smooth with gentle carbonation.

~5oz pour on tap at Maduro during GTMW. Hazy dark red brown color. Thin off-white head. Some ropes of lace. Good light caramel malt, and bourbon whiskey wood aroma. Lightly spicy, with a nice undertone of the cherry. Medium to bigger body. Light slick texture. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Moderate bitter, moderate sweet taste, lightly spicy. Some nice light alcohol warmth. Pretty tasty, interesting complex stuff to sip on.

Sampled at the 2014 MBG Summer Fest. Dark reddish-brown pour. Aroma is bourbon and cherries with some caramel and vanilla. Tastes like bourbon soaked cherries without the harshness. Lots of oak and vanilla too. Caramel and cherry candy-like finish. Slight boozy in the finish but not medicinal at all. Way better than normal Third Coast.

Tap: Swampy, ruby tinted brown with lazy tan bubbles on top. Aroma of sweet cherry, a little booziness, & a coating of caramel, toffee, & mild oak drizzled around. Taste has semisweet & semi-tart cherries, almost like cherry pie filling. Notes of molasses, anise, caramel, & toffee are also present. Barrel notes are light, only some mild oak & vanilla, but the booze is apparent. Lingering alcohol, caramel, & lightly sweet cherries in the finish, like boozy cherry candy.
