Bottle poured into snifter. Aroma is a sweet caramel nose. Has a dark reddish amber color with off white head. Flavor out of the fridge was sweet alcohol and fruity. As it warmed up the harshness mellowed out to a nice liquid caramel infused with dark fruit. It has a soft carbonation and borderline syrupy, but not thick. I would love to try another one of these aged. All in all this is a nice old ale example.

Bottle. Pours a dark clear mahogany with creamy beige head. Aroma of tootsie roll, butterscotch, dark fruit. Flavor has some great butterscotch notes complemented by booze and dark fruit. Slight alcohol bite with lingering butterscotch flavor. Balanced, rich, slightly boozy, and really good.

Bottle. Pours a deep ambery-brown with fluffy off white head, mad crazy lacing. Nose is heavy on the dates, figs, brown sugar, caramel, malty goodness. Mouth is full bodied and slightly creamy, heavy caramel up front, some candied orangey notes, vanilla, maple syrup, malty, malty, malty, with some bitterness towards the middle and long into the afterglow I like this a lot, so it’s going to be hard to sit on the rest of this six pack and let it cellar at least until the leaves fall and it’s time for a new hockey season to begin.

Pours very hazy and dark with almost no head. Had strong aromas of plumb, raisins, cherry, alcohol, and bubblegum. Very malty and yeasty on the tongue, with a noticeable alcohol burn and had a decent bitterness to it. Pretty big bodied beer. While it could have benefited from more age, it was great at 6 months anyways.

I found this guy at some random liquor store an hour away from my house when i was bored one day looking to buy some beer. It was aged 6 months in the bottle. It pours a very dark amber color. It looks completely black and opaque at some angles, but at others you can see it is SLIGHTLY translucent and amber. There is very little head that completely went away quickly. This beer has my absolute favor aroma I’ve smelled in any beer. Its smell is evenly split up between caramel, chocolate, fruityness, and brown sugar. The taste is also phenomenal and extremely complex. It’s very similar to the aroma but it has a nice alcoholic warmth to it. It also has a little dark chocolate and burnt caramelly which makes for one of my favorite beers. I’ve always been a fan of barely wines since I’ve first had one and this one tops the cake. At almost $4 for a 12oz bottle its a little expensive, but still definitely affordable. If I’m ever in the area where I found this at, or see it anywhere else, I’ll most likely be getting it.
