UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 Pretty new bottle, I think. Smells great. Definitely the aroma of a barley wine. Kind of fruity smelling. Taste is sweet, rich, decadent. A little bitterness. Iím wishing for slightly more depth of flavor and thicker body, but thatís nitpicking. Great beer! Edit: Just found out you can look up the batch # on the Bellís website from Ray, who traded this to me. The bottle is a 2009.

Bottle. Pours a murky brown beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma has massive barley, some chocolate and slightly red fruits. The malts are dominating the nose in a sweet and sugary way. No booze detected. Flavor is sweet and malty again, bigger hints of dark chocolate and also a slight bitter aftertaste. The booze comes out in the very back of the palate, giving it some nice kickback. Very warming, great balance and soft carbonation. Great stuff.

On tap pours an amber color with an off white head. Aromas of cherries, sweet booze similar to brandy. Flavored of burnt toffee, toasted malts, boozy cordial finish. Leaves the palate dry.

Tap. Hazy dark copper hue with a pale tan head. Smelled of strawberries and malt. Lightly fruity taste with a big malt and alcohol bill! Full bodied with moderate carbonation.

A juggernaut of goodness, Third Coast is a mouthfilling malt bomb that, despite its high alcohol content, remains very drinkable. Big caramel, cocoa, and dark fruit intermingle with piney hop notes that play in the aroma and flavor, but donít add much bitterness, serving merely to keep the sweet malts from completely stealing the show. Thick bodied, but never cloying, this is a Barley Wine done the right way, showcasing the grain elegantly. Ends cleanly with a slow malty fade, leaving wads of viscous tan head behind.

Deep maroon body, off white head soapy lacing. Sweet dried fruit, vanilla, grains, white chocolate aroma. Taste Is a strong dried fruit, raisins, some roasty bitterness, booze, cocoa, sharp finish on back of the throat. Smooth rich coating palate. Very nice.

Mahogany color with beige head. Aroma has a lot of sweet, dark fruits like raisins, plums, dates and also some molasses. Taste is really well balanced. Starts a bit sweet with caramel and dark sugar but gets really roasty and bitter in the finish. Alcohol gives some warmth but doesnít burn your palate. Overall itís a really well made beer, perfect for the colder seasons.

It pours a cloudy amber color. It has a full head that produces lacing. it has aromas of molasses, bread, some nuts, and some dark fruits with cherries being the most evident. It has flavors of molasses, bread, cereal, nuts, dark fruits, with cherries being the dominant dark fruit although there are hints of plums. It has a quality bitter hit on the palate.

12 oz aged bottle served in a snifter. Pours a hazy, nearly opaque, reddish-brown. Would be murkier but I left the last bit of sediment in the bottle. This is a rich and robust ale with moderate spiciness and a load of dark fruit flavors. Somewhat boozy but not bad for > 10% ABV.

Pours a deep mahogany brown from the bottle with a thin cap of tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of musty wood and dark fruits with just a hint of oxidized caramel malt. Taste is more toward the dark fruit and caramel malt with a slight bitter finish. Mild carbonation, boozy burn, decent barley wine.
