Field 2 is a complex and refreshing farmhouse ale that emphasizes the unique flavors of rustic yeast from a farm brewery on the French-Belgian border. With delicate notes of wild herbs, spices, pear, and straw, it’s no surprise that farmhouse ales once quenched field workers. Traditional hops from Bavaria and Slovenia lend pronounced aroma of lemongrass and earth to a gentle finish.
With ingredients that traveled far to come together, Field 2 is yet another transplant to New York that decided to stay. The name is taken from our preferred field in New York, found on the Great Lawn of Central Park.

On tap. Pours hazy golden with white head. Aroma is of funky yeast, bready malt, some spices and citrus. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Funky yeast, wheat malt, some hops and sour lemon fill the mouth. Finish is long and spicy. Good overall.

Can via BTL. Muted yellow with a thinner whispy film of a head. Pencil points of lacing. Slightly sour funk nose. Flowers and cobwebs. Surprising something that evokes rustic tones comes from the City. I hate the city. I like this beer. At first taste, I thought I could crush a few of these. Then the smoked meats arrived.

Sample at District Tap House. Hazy golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal yeast, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrus, yeast, malt and grassy hops. The finish is fruity and spicy with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thickish white head, about three centimetres tall that fades fast. Aroma of grass, coriander seed, light yeast, corn and a touch of curacao and citrus-based sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavours at first with a good coriander seed freshness and a light citrus twang and sweetness and a touch of metal on the end. Aftertaste shows a little grassy freshness with a little sweetness and a good finish of herbs and light hops. Overall, a nice beer with a good profile and a steady complexity - nice to try, and even though it isn’t amazing, a good beer all around. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Murray’s Cheese in New York, New York on 20-June-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-September-2015.
