On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a nice tan head and a light treacle aroma. There is a thick chocolate and coffee flavor with a dry finish.

Draft at the brewpub, courtesy of Arne, thank you sir! Dark brown, small broewn edge head. Aroma of coffee grounds. taste is similar, light bodied.

Draft. Deepest brown with small tan head. Delicate coffee and caramel aroma. Pleasant rooty bitterness but not a whole lot else in the flavor makeup. Rather thin in body but crisp and welcoming of mass consumption.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 13/10/2007 Fruit and roast aromas. Black fruity and a little rich on the palate. Some dryness in a crisp burnt roast finish.

Cask at the brewpub! Nose is roasty coffee with a chocolate hint. Very dark cherry brown with a big beige glass lacing head. Flavor is coffee, chocolate and very light hop bitterness.

Dark brown with no head. Sweet toasty milk chocoalte taste with some oat notes to the finish.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

I had this on tap at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Black pour, thin white head, dry roasty flavor, it was ok

Draft at the brewpub. Toasted malt aroma. Maybe a chocolate hint. Near opaque brown/black color with a tan head. Medium body with very smooth carbonation. The flavor reminds of the old Guinness (this is a heavy porter). It’s a very toasted porter with a nice amount of bitter in the finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured an opaque black color. Head was thin and off white. Not much aroma other than a hint of wet dog. Not a good smell. Dry and relatively flavorless other than subdued roasted malt. One of my least favorite.
