3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this ruby-hearted black draft on nitrogen at the pub. Yes, well-done to Dublin tastes, as it boasts a chocolate and coffee aroma, medium-lean smooth body with tangy acidity mid-palate, and a long roast note in the finish. This was my second place choice (of four) in blind tasting for best stout in Sonoma County...at the time. Would be happy to say it tied for first, if ties had been allowed. (Would like to taste this side-by-side with OVL, but for now Iíll say this one is best.)

Tap at the brewpub. Very dark pour with a foamy head. Mild coffee and bitter chocolate all over this one. Smooth palate, not very heavy. Pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at brewpub on 062013, tried both the nitro and the normal one. Pours almost black with an off-white head. Light roasted aroma of coffee and chocolate.Taste is chocolate and hop bitter with a light caramel sweetness. Finish is dry bitter chocolate.
The nitro version had a more dense and creamy head and a smoother body.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Pour is deep brown almost black with a frothy tan head and good lacing. Cocoa, roast, light wood, graham crackers, earthy hops, and grass in the aroma. Taste is roast, vanilla, dark chocolate, light wood, earthiness, and grass with a lightly roasted finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Not a bad foreign stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber thanks to Dallas and Bonnie. Pours a mostly clear brown color with a medium brown head. A light nose of smoke and roast. The flavor is light coffee, ash, some roast, very dry, caramel. Quite nice. Very mellow and drinkable. Great flavor for a low ABV.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle poured into a Guinness glass. While this beer is not the thickest, dense, most concentrated stout... Though this is certainly still full of tons of classic stout aromas and flavors!!! Layers of roasted grain, savory umami, mild soy, mild coffee and tons of bitter-sweet coco power. Lighter bodied and dry, with low carbonation and good mouthfeel. Low alcohol actually makes this a great sessionable stout!! Very easy to drink and enjoy. Pretty darn good if your not stuck on thick, over-the-top stouts. Even well priced.. No wonder this has received so many awards in the past decade. Long lingering finish, without the alcohol kick. I think true beer connoisseurs will appreciate this beer's lighter weight and lower alcohol, without the lack of flavor or length. Well made. Cannot be compared or judged against thick, monster stouts. There is a sort of give and take with what this beer offers.. Sessionable with TONS of flavor. Great combo!
