COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The rich darkness is not excessive as is sometimes seen in other craft iterations. A medium high hop flavor and aroma befits this style. The caramel and roasted malt flavors and aromas are enhanced with a well-controlled fruitiness.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy caramel, chocolate, lighter roast, and a touch of coffee...no hops in the aroma. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights. It has a one finger beige head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some spotty webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and dark chocolate. The finish has light-moderate pine, burnt notes, light roast, and coffee. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, there’s simply not enough hops here to be anywhere close to a Black IPA.

Dark body with off white head. This is definitely more on the stout side of the black IPA style. Like a really nice stout with noticable hops, rather than just a darkened or slightly roasted malt IPA, which is more typical of black IPAs. Anyway, this was unique and very tasty.

Good overall flavour but the palate and after taste starts out rough. Builds on itself; the second pint is much better than the first.

Aroma is citrus American hops, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavor is a battle between hop bitterness and roasted malts, the flavors of which seem to clash. The finish is a bit harsh as well as the roast and hops continue to fight it out. An interesting beer, but one was enough.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and malt. Taste is slightly bitter like dark chocolate and French roast coffee. Very good.

Smell is mostly roasted malt flavors and characteristics and not so much in terms of hops. Has a pretty bitter finish, but I feel like the malt used is far too roasty. Wish this had more hop flavor and characteristics.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and hops, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours cloudy deep amber in a dark brown beer, small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and light peachy hoppy. Bitter, peachy and grapefruity. Dark roasted malty and caramelish to breadish. Bitter and dry finish.

12 oz bottle pours a dark brown with small beige head and little lacing. Aroma has roasted malts, citrus, pine caramel, and touches of chocolate and coffee. Taste is initially bitter, with some sweet caramel malts in a brief middle, with a dry finish. Not as hoppy as most black IPAs. Body is medium with good carbonation. Mouthfeel is oily but lively. A decent and balanced black IPA
