COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a true brown, not only because if its color but because of its stringent adherence to the style guidelines; a real beer connoisseurs dream. The hop flavor and aroma is adequately full and assists the roasted malt flavors that are perceived on the palate. There is limited fruitiness and the body is appropriate.

Tap at Psycho Suzi’s. Plastic cup. Dark brown color and a frothy head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Initial taste is more crisp than expected but packs the roasted malt takes over. Surprisingly less meal like than I anticipated. Relatively easy to drink and a clean finish. I think the coffee nature brings the score down a bit but an average effort all around. If you want a brown ale from MN, you could do worse than the Lost Trout.

Smooth to drink brown ale with excellent balance of sweet and malty flavors. Pairs well with chicken, and just about any food available at the average bar.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wet hay, and chocolate, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Pours a nice brown color with a tan 2 finger head. Nice English aroma on the beer. Some nice maltiness with hints of smoke, wood and nuttiness. A hint of roasted malt. The taste is very similar to the nose but with a bit of hop astringency in the middle of the palate. Very nice beer. Very clean and sessionable.
