3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bookman10 (479) - Osseo, Minnesota, USA - FEB 1, 2013Pours a darker brown with a rather small head. Maple syrup dominates the aroma, along with coffee and a burnt, almost smoky aroma. Flavor is primarily the maple part of the syrup, coupled with some burnt toast, coffee, and chocolate. Fairly bitter finish. Rather light mouthfeel--could use some thickening up or something (not very stoutlike, really).

Bottle Shared by deyholla, thanks Derek! Pours near black with mahogany hue and thin brown head that didn’t last. Nose is loads of roasted and sweet malts with only a touch of maple. taste is similar. A bit thin and roasty but not as much maple as i was expecting. Smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear very dark brown with a chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of dark grain and a bit of a burnt sugar notes with a touch of underlying maple. Flavor has same dark grains with a light burnt note and dark toffee with a touch of maple through the finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours an opaque dark brown colored stout with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to a film top and thin beige ring. Aroma of chocolate and maple syrup, a hint of molasses, and floral hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, some extra carbonation with flavors of chocolate malt, brown sugar, maple and caramel malt. Finish is semi-sweet, some extra chocolate and brown sugar malt aftertaste with a short spice hop profile.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BeerKurve (233) - - MAR 26, 2013
Dark Brown with a filmy brown head. Picking up on some subtle maple & chocolate notes in the nose. Flavor is very subtle with maple, chocolate, and burnt malts; Aftertaste has a sweet maple flavor to it. Body is light, creamy and lightly carbonated. Decent stout overall but could’ve had a stronger overall flavor

12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma is slightly metallic with maple syrup, chocolate, molasses, and caramel. Taste is upfront maple syrup sweetness then bitter metal and bitter chocolate until the end. Pretty bad,

Light head and lacing. On tap. Sweet malty nose. Really light beer that has watery palate with slightly bitter finish. Not really my thing but not terrible.

from bottle to glass, very dark brown with a tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Minnesota cold has left my nose a little off, but the aroma smells of coffee, chocolate, and burnt maple right now . Taste follows suit with the nose for the most part. I have had this beer on tap as well, and was considerably better if I remember right. Not bad, but really waiting for 3rd street to wow me, as I really enjoy supporting local breweries.

Bottle: Brown pour with a thin tan head.
aroma is crystilized maple syrup and roasted malt/coffee.
flavour is dark roast malt bitterness which yields to maple syrup sweetness that builds as the brew warms. Bit light on the palate.
