Dobre tresciwe i o pelnym slodowym smaku z wyraznym wytrawnym zakonczeniem. Chmiele tu goruja i poteguja. Troche takze wyczuwa sie alkochol i przede wszystkim mocna slodowosc. Ale po przelknieciu naprawde przemila goryczkowa uczta i pozostawiony ten posmak na dlugo. Spora piana nawet trwala kolor ciemnej przybrudzonej pomaranczy. Bardzo metne

Bottle (330 ml). Clear bright golden/copper with a medium fully lasting beige head and good lacing. Aroma is of caramel, spices, breadied malt, light piney notes and fruity notes. Aroma is slightly sweet, moderately malty and bitter with caramel/molasses, fruits, piney notes and spices. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Chewy/sirupy mouthfeel. Moderately dry finish. Interesting take on a Double IPA. The mouthfeel is very similar to the Thiriez L’Ambrée d’Escquelbecq that I had yesterday. Good balance. Nice warming. Different than your usual DIPA.

Vond de Dalva niet echt een IPA. Daarvoor is ie wat te bitter. Maar verder is deze introductie van mij aan Frans speciaalbier meer dan prima bevallen. Iets bitter dus, maar met voldoende hoppig tegengas.

Bottle at home. Clear orange gold, lively almost white head. Aroma is fruit, yeast, bread, fudge. Flavour is malts, some fruit. Quite enjoyed it, decent effort.

Tap at Les Trois 8. Pours a hazy amber with voluminous white head. Aroma is estery farmhouse yeast, banana, malt, citrusy and earthy hops. Taste is a mixture of malty, citrusy, and bitter, with some alcohol apparent. Definitely not an American-style IPA, more like an imperial farmhouse ale taken in a hoppier direction. Pretty good.

Bottle at Les Trois 8, Paris. Clear deep golden with a stable head. Sweetish, yeasty, orange zest aroma. Good balance, orange zest, hints of yeast. Slightly grainy mouthfeel. Different- a tripel or an IPA or simply a mix of both.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized sticky white creamy foamy head on top of a hazy orange colored beer. Aroma is a creamy mix of herbs, butters, malts, yeast, some peach, cheese, flowers and a hint of porridge. Flavours of peach, some red fruit, malts, herbs, cream, butter, bitter, grass, some yeast, some crispy plants and a slight hint of cardboard. Aftertaste is bitter, fruity, creamy, herbal and light butter. Low carbo, creamy silky mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy close to oily texture. Wow a complete different approach of this style, creamy and different fruits, but no hops and strong bitterness, different but quite nice.

75cl bottle at the 3rd Shrewsbury Bottle Share, courtesy of me. Bought at a deli in French Flanders a while ago so perhaps wasn’t in optimum condition. Has a farmhouse yeastiness to it rather than a typically hopped-out American double IPA, although there is a slight bitterness but, not being particularly fresh, these bitter hops seem a bit smudgey and numbed. Slight resinous quality but this bottle seems like its towards the end of its life. A re-rate with a fresh bottle beckons!
