4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 ThirstyBird (416) - Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAY 9, 2013
On tap at Moeder Lambic. Pours a golden color with a light haze. Lofty thick off-white head. Smell is earthy, spicy, floral with some fruit sweetness. Taste follows smell with some biscuit and ends dry with just a bit of bitterness. Tight carbonation, light body...elegant. Great stuff!
4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brekeriet (139) - SWEDEN - MAR 9, 2011
Bottle 330ml. Aroma: Malty, nice brettyness, hoppy, smoke, citrus, cloves, sour, fruity. Hazy, pale, appearance with a thick nice head. Taste: Sharp and nice bitterness, a bit tart, grape fruity, dry. High carbonation. Overall a beer with a very nice and complex aroma. Different and pleasant.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 omhper (17456) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2006
[Bottled] Hazy golden, very lively, enormous head. Estery strawberry aroma. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Some butter and spicy hops, intricate flowery finish with lingering powerful bitterness. A lovely, complex and very flavourful, yet light typical French ale.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 minch25 (575) - Medford, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 12, 2007
Hazy honey-blond body in my brand new Rodenbach Grand Cru tulip, foams extremely easily to a huge craggy head. Soft spicy herbal aroma. Low-key flavor that builds up on you. I love the hopping, Goldings or something, hard to find on this side of the pond now, doesn’t rip your tongue out but steadily accumulates. Subtlety that’s lacking in too many beers.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 gregmurer (8) - ydes, FRANCE - OCT 1, 2008 does not count
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2009 really nice and hoppy. Is it the first "IPA du nord de la france"?
Light palate, but full mouth, the bitterness never cover the balance, it’s pretty amazing how it work. A really great job.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - DEC 5, 2012
Clear golden body with off white and unstable head of small bubbles.Pleasant herbal and light spiced aroma, fresh grass from the hops, very light malts but enough clean yeast to give some base to this beer. Spicy taste profile, a herbal bitterness and more than expected. Has little body to build on, but I think it can get away with it. Herbal finish. Medium yet active carbonation. A bit different than expected; fairly clean and light base but with quite some classic hops, making it an interesting twist on a bier de garde/saison kind of style. Like the bretty feel to this. Very enjoyable. Man, I’m a sucker for well made saisons.. (33cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden)

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2013 Bottle. Golden with a medium head. Nice fresh aroma upon opening with some bitterness. Crisp clean taste which gradually develops its bitterness. I dont usually re rate but this one was so much better than when first tried that I had to. Has it improved that much or has my taste changed?

Bottle from The Wine Cellars, Lutterworth. Lager gold with a Gillette-dense foam falling to a collar. Sweet, vanilla pod, strawberries and custard aroma with hints of AJ and cardamom. Soft, moussey and perfumed with a spicy, estery sweetness suggesting cinnamon sprinkled on bananas on toast, a countering herbal hop bite and subtle smoked almond note to finish. Light, complex, unexpectedly delicious stuff.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rauchbier (3394) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2006
Bottle conditioned, from Beer Cellar in Lincoln. Faintly hazy gold, vast fluffy white lasting head and good condition. Pleasant hops and honey in the nose, some hints of citrus and a vague chalky yeastiness. Quite full in the mouth with a restrained yeasty sweetness, solid earthy hop notes and a gentle nutty maltiness. Lingering yeast and herbal hop bitterness in the finish but quite well behaved and never excessive, some background nuttiness remains as well.
