4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Spicy dough, spicy hops, lemon, orange peel, resinous grassiness, and a hint of skunk (doesnít detract) finish with a light resinous grassy mouthfeel with great carbonation.

Cloudy gold pour. Great aroma; touch of funk and skunk, hops, yeast, and herbs. Flavor holds great crisp herbal hops, bread, and funk. Refreshing and tasty.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
El cheapo beer at maxís. Not bad. Smoky. Okay finish. Kind of harsher than I would like bit to be. Very difficult to find this on the website, on the menu it was marked as being "Thirez Extra".... but with my clever internet sleuthing I was able to find and mark this down forever.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Churchkey, shared with staff. My 100th saison rating, and also the last beer I shared with friends before jumping on the plane to Belgium. This one was a classic farmhouse beer, cloudy dark yellow, white head. Aroma of pine, hay and straw. Taste is dusty lemons and barnyard. Very nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very hazy golden orange color. Aroma is lemon, spice, yeast, and some herbal, grassy notes. The Brett funk is very restrained. Mouthfeel is crisp, prickly high carbonation, and light bodied and refreshing. Flavors include some citrus, an underlying honey sweetness, not expected in a saison, and a firm hop bitterness. The Brett comes through in the flavor a little stronger than the aroma, but less than I had hoped for. The finish is balanced, with the sweet malt showing up. It is dry but once again less hoppy than I had hoped. A good beer, refreshing and straight forward.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared @ Radio Maria, anglosized label that says "Thiriez Extra Dry-hopped Farmhouse Ale". Hazy bright gold, explosively exuberant bubbly white head that shows amazing retention. Perfumey nose, a little soapy even, until the towering head collapses, allowing more pungent earthy leafy hop character to peek out. Very cool! Nice light malts, terrific dry-hopped bitterness, earthy loamy pot notes, floral perfume. Initially I was put off by the aggressive carbonation, but given a bit of time it settled and allowed the flavours to present themselves nicely.

Pours pale yellow with a thick creamy head. Aroma is strong and hopy with a certain earthy vegital aroma. It is salty, lemon, funky and very hopy. This is a very nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, thanks to curly. Holy shit Jason! Pours murky gold, thick white head, great lacing. Nose is super potesque. Man this smells like high-grade chronic! So weed, lemons, white pepper, some oregano-esque herbal notes. Flavours of salt, lemon, weed, cream, spice, super-herbal finish. Hmmm... A very nice Saison. The world needs more Saisons at 4.5%.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: Draft at Blind Tiger, 12/18/10
Aroma: The nose has floral notes, some spice, and some yeast/bread notes too
Appearance: This one is a hazy golden looking beer with a frothy white head
Flavor: The taste is somewhat spicy, a touch blonde-like, and with some floral hops
Palate: The body of this one is medium, its fairly crisp and a touch on the musty side
Overall, I found this to be a pretty interesting saision. There is something about it that makes it feel almost blonde-like. It isnít one of the better saisions Iíve ever had, but it was drinkable.
