(Bottle at Kaunis Kampela on 2008-04-19) Deep dark brown. Big tan-coloured head. Yeast and some malts in nose. Fizzy and quite full palate. Caramell and hops in taste.

33 cl bottle, ’bbe’ Apr 09. Very dark, shiny ruby red with a small, lacy coffee with milk head. Nose of plum jam, oranges, dark chocolate and yeast. Some lactic acid becomes apparent later. Sour-sweetish taste with fruit (hint of raspberry) and scorched malts . Round finish with a gentle burnt bitterness. Surprisingly refreshing and light bodied for such a dark brew with burnt tones.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of sour notes with the typical Thiriez yeast. Taste is also dominated by some sour notes with a light roasted malt backbone. This is a really weird mix, i.e. a dry stout mix with Flander red, and I am not sure if this is really working. Average body with OK carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting but not sure I would buy this consistently if it was available around the corner.

33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JN18/08.[br/][br/] App.: Very deep black with hints of brown, moderate tan head. Aroma: A bit of molasses and brown sugar, lots of ginger, black licorice, some clove and other warm spices, a bit of black coffee, slightly minty, tangy truly an odd and eclectic aroma Palate: Medium+ body, soft effervescence, slightly slick and astringent. Flav.: Tangy acidity, plenty of ginger, vinous, some molasses and licorice, a touch of leafy hops quite tart and slightly bitter, with a touch of coffee that lingers with the tartness.[br/][br/] A bizarre brew with very unexpected flavours and aromas. Unique, but not for me.

Pours an amber reddish. A little Scotch in the air for aroma. Active carbonation mouthfeel, though on the light side. Some sourness. Flanders Red to me and not well done. Not too drinkable.Bottle from probstk, hitchiker.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a fizzy light tan head. Ginger spiced aroma, has another spice I cannot pinpoint, but it smoothens the ginger with a liqourice like note. Flavour is spiced with a mix of ginger and liqourice. Light acidic to citric touch in the finish, not sure if this is a mild infection or intentional. But overall a unique and nice experience.
