3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Petite Princesse Batch 486 this Jester King/Thiriez collab was a slow gusher and poured a matte copper. 2.9% Not so appetizing but the nose is great: peppery, orange blossoms, dough and possibly wild flowers like dandelions? Soft bodied with a bitter metallic finish. The taste is muddled bitter, earthy, brett, hay, green. Complex for 2.9% but I was expecting more. Though this bottle was drunk fairly warm after getting shaken up in my bag... Best thing about it is the nose. As I drink it, this princess grew on me with peppery wheat, spice & floral notes. I need to try this again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Robe or, léger reflets ambrés. Nez sur le houblon, le malt, et la levure sur un fond d’agrumes. Bouche tout en fraîcheur mais un manque de profondeur et de complexité, par contre une belle finale amère. Une saison légère.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2015 750mL bottle from Cave a Bulles, brewed 12/20/14, drunk 4/26/15
Fantastic, unrelenting head is mostly well-retained. Snow white atop a very light blonde body with plentiful carbonation and a good clarity, leaving the yeast behind.
Very hoppy in the nose, but in a Thiriez way, meaning quite different than many other breweries. It’s like a big shot of thyme and black pepper. I’m not the biggest fan of Thiriez’ other beers and this certainly isn’t my ideal hop aroma, but I can appreciate it and the aroma is otherwise clean, with a dusting of light honey and vanilla. Maybe a touch of crayon-like waxiness? Obviously no alcohol notes.
Fantastically light but still drinkable, much on account of the tight carbonation and refreshing, zesty hop bitterness. Pepper, herbs and just a touch of light lemon zest. It all works well together and the yeast adds very soft fruits (nectarines, peach skin, unripe strawberry) while the texture is very soft, given over to a wheat-like chewiness. Light minerality (plaster, hint of cellar must) adds some complexity and the beer goes down just as easily as Petit Prince. I found that one to be a touch cleaner and yet more flavorful overall with less heavy pepperiness to the hops and lacking this one’s touch of astringency/malt huskiness from the low gravity. Great though, and supremely drinkable.
