bottle, delivered by jaghana - merci beaucoup! Cloudy amber-brownish colour, large and fluffy beige head. Fruity-hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty base with some roasted malts and a nice fruitiness, mainly berries. Hints of forest, wet leaves, very interesting. The roast flavours together with the fruitiness reminds me slightly of some darker English bitters.

Bottle 33cl, a cloudy amber-red beer with a creamy head. Nose is on fruit, raspberry and yeast. Aroma is malty with a dry fruit body, very easy drinkable, no sour notes as expected by the beer name, peppery hops at the finish. Fruit side is nice and do remain in the mouse and without acidity which is pleasant, some chocolate malt hints on aftertaste.

The beer in the glass is dark copper-brown with good opacity. The head is fine, creamy and medium high. The smell is very fruity and sour, sometimes biting in the nose, smells like a rotten Wit beer. It starts more pleasant then expected. Fruity and tart, with a pronounced sour note, a subtle mustiness is unfortunately spreading. The finish is fruity fermented, with strong bitter malt aroma. The further course remains malty, bitter, fermented fruit and, unfortunately, the mustiness is conserved!

An interesting quitre dark amber Belgian style. Has some caramel notes with a light roast note too. There are certainly some typical belgian yeast ester characters as well. The mouthfeel is lighter than expected due to higher carbonation, less would be better IMO. If I was a bigger fan of belgian beers then this would probably geta slightly higher rating, but no matter how I try I’m just not into belgian styles.

Okay colour, just as you expect. Bit sourish smell and taste, bit dry finish and lively mouthfeel.

Test vom 6.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,6,7,7,3,7 - 7,15

Bottle from La Cave A Bulles. Cloudy red brown beer. thick off white head. Dry crisp palate. Carbonated zing. Sourish malt with a little spice. Frothy in the mouth. Drinkable.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2011 Bottle from Cave a Bulles, Paris. Poured a murky deep red body with a white head. Full malty nose, sweet and pleasant, nearly dry and the end with very light notes of chocolate, and the same could be said for the quite "smooth" taste - creamy and malt driven. Drinkable, enjoyable stuff, even if it’s not that complex.

Good head, brown colour. Interesting smell, like a bit watery Belgium trippel, weird. First sip is sharp, but taste rounds quickly to soft and mellow summer drink. I quite like this, even thou mouth feeling is too frisky to me.
