3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pintbypint (1975) - Edmonton, Alberta, - JAN 15, 2013750ml green bottle with a cap. Amber pour, hazy. Good foamy thick head at first pour, but dies down to a ring. Nose has slight farmhouse note, but moreso has a lemony citrus hop. Taste has brown bread like malts, touch of caramel. Finishes quite dry, hint of citrus hop that fades quickly. Lots of carboantion, and medium bodied, its dryness and carboantion akek it very drinkable and refreshing.

750 ml bottle. Pours a light mahogany with a big head. Aromas of malts, yeast, and metal. Smooth though a bit water. Light flavors of malt and caramel. Refreshing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lilja (952) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2013
Smak och doft av körsbär, plommon, trä, alldeles för söt med en lite fadd eftersmak. Lagom beska.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 alethol (47) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 10, 2013
Pours hazy amber. Aroma of brown sugar, malt. Yeasty. Taste sweet (caramel) and greenish, well-balanced. Lack of body and short finish make this beer a bit boring though.

Bottle from brewery, good amber, but I just don’t like ambers. Caramel amber pour, caramel Martinez and fruity yeast in aroma. All that and raisiny sweetness in flavor, medium mouthfeel. Ok

Yeah. Well. Nothing like the other Biere de garde I had. Classifications are often a nonsense. I think. Definitely not a good name for my member. Though it may provide confusion and disorientation which may be fairly well representative of how well it performs. Enough. Malty, sweet, some dark fruit but not much. Reminds me of the Old Thumper I had recently. Now that’s a much better member name.

Farmhouse. Darker than I expected and more malty but then I knew nothing about biere de garde. Very dry with little body. Ok, nothing more, nothing less.
