Bottle. Aroma of malted barley. Lightly roasted malt. Caramel and toffee. A hint of earthy dirtiness. Some baking bread. Pours cloudy dark copper with lots of particulate. Pleasant flavor profile with notes of barley, toasted malt, biscuits, yeast and a hint of dry earthy hops. Creamy on the tongue with lively carbonation.

750ml. bottle at HW open house. Hazy amber color with a large off white head. Mild aroma that was somewhat grassy with a hint of honey. Spicy, fruity flavor with some caramel and a lighly bitter hop finish.

Yeah. Well. Nothing like the other Biere de garde I had. Classifications are often a nonsense. I think. Definitely not a good name for my member. Though it may provide confusion and disorientation which may be fairly well representative of how well it performs. Enough. Malty, sweet, some dark fruit but not much. Reminds me of the Old Thumper I had recently. Now that’s a much better member name.

big 750 mL bottle, pouring a carbonated amber color. nice and mild, fresh farm scents not of pigs or cattle but corn and hay. a very enjoyable brew, definitely hiding all 5.8% alcohol.

Really, really, really fizzy. Light notes of peanuts and caramel corn, some apples. Honey, maybe. Nice flavors, but their intensity is lightened considerably by the carbonation. Dry, herbally bitter finish.

] Pours a clear deep amber, topped by an impossible head of light tan foam. Too much head retention - foam oozes out of the top of the bottle, even after I’ve poured off 4-5 ounces. Light malt caramel aroma, with a soft fruitiness. Delicious beer - light caramel, some dark honey, sweet bread, and a touch of dried apricot. These sweet flavors are nicely balanced by the fresh earthy hops. Exceptionally smooth beer - medium body and lots of gentle carbonation.

thanks to dickinsonbeer (dick-in-some-beer) Appears a hazy light gold with a chunky head that is from the 3/4 Liter bottle that spewed like a mother in labor. Smell is of plum, grapefruit, spices, and doughy bread. Taste is of the same aromas. Mouthfeel is smooth, mildly sugary, and balanced.

750ml Bottle: I saw this was new at Royal (and I believe to MO) so of course I had to get it. I believe three total Brasserie Thiriez are availbile. It pours with an explosive head that took multliple pours to get it all in my stien (only glassware I have to hold whole bottle, I’m sorry I know its not proper glassware). A this hazy orangey amber color beer with some floating to sinking sediments. A small ring of head remains atop the beer. The aroma is nice, nothing too distinct. the flavor is great. Rather mild, yet complex. Has figs in the background but for lack of better ability to describe it, it just hides in the background, seemingly wanting to explode onto the palate but remains in the background. Sugary up front, but spices do come through with an interesting finish. Nice toffee, malts, sugary, syrupy, doughy, wheatish, and definitly some apples.

Cloudy warm brown with a plume of tan, coarse head that quickly bubbles down. Aroma is pear, light bakers yeast, nutty wood, white grape, odd grain, and pineapple. Light body with low carbonation of moderate coarseness. Flavor reveals strong nuttiness and a hint of funky tartness which may be due to the inclusion of raw grain. A nice brew that is not overstated.
