Bottle: Unfiltered.
The first Christmas beer produced by Thiriez since 1997. Fewer hops than the Blonde; lightly toasted malts for color, and a hint of spice.

Bottled. A hazy amber coloured beer with little head. The aroma is very hoppy and sharp. The taste has a nice sour farmyard quakity with the hops again nicely noticeable. Slightly spicy and very tasty.

33cl bottle; Cloudy, orange colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sourish wheaty malty nose with citrus-/orange-peel, coriander and phenolic spices. Moderately sourish flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Yeasty wheat-character with citrus and softer spicy notes in the background; sourish fruity and spicy finish. 16.XI.08

750mL thanks to Travlr.Slow gusher. Large creamy, beige head atop deep reddish ruby, rust. Good lacing. Mega malty nose with brown sugar, black cherry, some celery, dill, wet hay. Taste is bitter, minerally, black cherry soda, rustic malt. A bit bland. Effervescent rather than thick and malty. No oatmeal richness wanted in style. Not too bad. In a way it tastes like diet black cherry soda mixed with malta non alcoholic beverage.

Slightly hazy orange-ochre beer under small yellowish head. Watercress aroma, fresh, caramel and sweet malts. Slightly sourish, toasted and malty taste, a bit like sourdough bread, toasted, and maltcookies. Quite sweet main taste, if a bit dull, with always the sourish lining. Light to medium bodied, a bit like fruitjuice-without-pulp like MF. Not bad, just a decent session ale.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2007 The Lure:
A lofty head forms intricate lacing around the peaches and apricots. Hay-like maltiness and oranges/citrus fruit assure a probably quenchable pride.

The Festivities:
Sweet fruitiness benefits from the dry hay within. A cushiony mouthfeel emerges from the big bubbles (almost too expansive though) and capable maltiness. Papaya and citrus fruit rise confidently above the classy, restrained profile.

Transcendence:
Warm winds whistling in between barn boards.

bottle, kindly donated by jaghana - merci beaucoup! Hazy amber colour, large and creamy off-white head. Sourish-fruity nose. Full-bodied, lovely malty base with caramel and fruit, balanced by a timid but interesting sourness. Balanced off by some aromatic hops in the finish, the tongue is played with by a miscture of caramel and malty sweetness, fruity sourness and hoppy bitterness. Highly interesting and fascinating.

Bottle from Degarth. Thanks! Hazy deep coppery pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of hopcitrus, caramel malt, brown sugar, some fruit. The taste is caramel malty up front, with emerging brown sugar, hopcitrus, some apricotty notes, and some funk. Another complex beer that was a great part of my Independence weekend beer-a-thon!

Sample at the brewery in April 2008 (on tap I think). Amber with a slight haze. Lightly fruity aroma with a hint of toffee. Clean on the palate with some slightly bready malts. Slightly acidic edge on the finish. Touch of residual sweetness. Easy drinking. Fine but nothing particularly out of the ordinary.

Bottle. Pear, orange, and malt aroma. Cloudy orange and amber color with a giant head. White pepper, peach and celery flavor. Very nice beer - dry with light fruitiness.
