The first Christmas beer produced by Thiriez since 1997. Fewer hops than the Blonde; lightly toasted malts for color, and a hint of spice.

Bottle gushes when opened, pours hazy amber with strong head and visible effervescence as well as some floaties. Aroma is light tart pepperiness, raisin, bread. Taste is candy caramel, raisin, tart green grape, freshly baked bread. Body is light, frothy, effervescent, and with a dry tart grapey finish. Overall, an extremely delicious beer. Very enlightening to drink as I experience very different (yet delicious) results while brewing with their yest.

Smell is sweet, malty and tiny metallic with plums, raisins, bread, apricots, sweet oranges, caramelized nuts and toffee. Taste is very sweet and fruity with bread, wild strawberries, wood, hazelnuts, toffee and hints of vanilla. Mouthfeel is tiny watery, slightly sticky sweet and light to medium bodied. 750 ml bottle; dense brown with almost dirty, muddy texture and fizzy light cream head; wow, sometimes I’m blown away by a BdG aroma with the spelty wheat, husky grain and sweet honey; silky, light syrup in the mouthfeel; sweet honey, dry oaks, some dry fruit; delicate yet complex; crisp, clean lager-like feel to it with all the spelty, belgian goodness; one of the best BdG’s I’ve had yet; pure yum
