COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bière blonde (5,6°) au froment donc claire et fraîche. Très agréable l’été, elle ressemble à une blanche mais c’est une blonde !

Clearly not a "blanche" like somepeople can say, to me it tastes quite like a sugar free Tripel Karmeliet, which is better than Tripel K.

Bottle at Kasteelhof with Bruce and Colin - Cassel, France. Pours clear gold, effervescent, with a fine, creamy white head. Pale bready malts in the nose, light dough. Light to medium sweet flavor with more doughy malts, light pepper, straw. Light to medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes sweet with further dough, white sugar, hints of fruit, spicy yeast. Lovely. Finishes with impressions of orange and lemon meringue. Excellent.

On tap @ Les Trois 8, Paris - FR. Color : nice clear blond with medium carbonation and medium white foam. Smell: malty and herbal notes. Taste: really good equilibrium of malt and hops. And really easy drinkable. Aftertaste: nice wet bitterness. Good beer, fresh and easy drinkable.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear orange golden color, medium sized rough white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste wheat, something weird, herbs or spices, sweet-bitter. Very weird and not a Belgian White at all. Drinkable beer but as a Belgian White it’s total crap imo.

PotjeBier (1743) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 9, 2014
33 cl botte, souvenir from a trip to Lille. It was 9 months past the bb date (when I bought it). Hazy golden color (cloudy after pouring the sediment). Uneven white head with fairly good retention. Aroma’s: grainish first with some fruit, then grain, herbs, sweet fruit. Retronasal it’s sweet malts, sweet spices, a bit dark malts, perfumy. Flavor is light sweet, wheaty, light herbs. Light bodied, but not too thin. Quite high carbo. No new flavors in the finish, but it lingers.

33cl bottle from the brewery in Esquelbecq. Aroma shows the spices used, coming across as coriander and white pepper. Yeast is faintly phenolic and slightly lactic. Malt is honey-ish while hops give off a perfumed lemon oil quality. Light body, semi-sweet, low carbonation, low acid. Mild flavor overall, but clean, and the texture is soft as expected from Thiriez. Easy quaffer.
