The brown and caramel malts give this classic British style brown ale a lovely mouth feel and a fragrant, toasty malt aroma.

Tap at the brewpub. The look is reddish in color, clear, with a thin beige colored head. The smell is malty, dry, caramel. The taste is slight chocolate, caramel, malt.

A bad brown. Tastes strange. Pours a very nice red with a thick head. Smells good, like vanilla. Taste though is off. Very bitter, from start to finish, and not in a good way. Stay away from this one. Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampler at ThirstyBear, some caramel flavor but ultimately bland at its station in the sampler. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The lightest brown ale ever...amber pour with a white head. Swee toffee and sugar notes, a bit of toast, and bread. Light citrus peel and floral hops. The flavor is a bit watery. Some toast and bread malt sweetness, very mild hop notes, and a bit of cardboard.

Aroma is light with nuts, roasted malt and some coffee. Flavour has berries, nuts, roasted malts and hints of coffee. Too much berries here.

Sampler at the brewpub. Copper colour. Crystal clear. Small off-white head. Biscuity malty aroma. Caramel. Soft and creamy texture with a rich malty body. Not much not to like here. Well made brown.

On tap at the brewpub. Copper-coloured. Good malty caramel aroma. Molasses and caramel flavours. Very malty, but with well-balanced bitterness.

At the brewpub in San Francisco, on April 22, 2011
As part of a sample plate
Clear deep copper to brown color, white head. Malty, bread, dry, caramel, some alcohol taste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium dry bitterness. A bit fruity, mainly malty scent. Also some alcohol in the scent.
Decent drinkable brown who’s not over the top.
