CaptKirk (175), Hephzibah, Georgia, USA May 12, 2007 Had just a sample of this. I was amazed how much vanilla came thru. Very sweet. Hard to believe it was beer. Glad I did not get a pint. Too sweet for me. Nice color with a white head and nice lacing in the sample glass. Might be good for a dessert beer.
illidurit (431), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 On tap at 515 in Santa Cruz. Poured into a pint glass. Clear golden color with a frothy white head. Nice retention and lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is saccharine vanilla, kinda wafer-ish and artificial. It’s not unpleasant but it’s cloying. Flavor is an even pale malt base with sweet vanilla and toastiness. Much better balance than the aroma suggested. Pretty refreshing and extremely easy to drink. I don’t think I’d get through 2 of these though just because it’s too sweet. Very light and clean on the palate but with a nice sensation of creaminess from the vanilla. Nik925 (149), California, USA Aug 4, 2008 (Tap from April)Light and balanced with vanilla forward, but that means very little beer taste. Great for what its trying to be, but ehhhh rmussman (693), California, USA May 21, 2008 Sampled at the brew house. Flavor was a little weak but had a very nice vanilla flavor. Color was nice and mouthfeel was good. Worth a try. GJF (238), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Apr 22, 2008 No. Too much sweetness. Too much vanilla. No balance to it whatsoever. No drink. BillKismet (1439), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 26, 2008 Blonde, but a bit cloudy. Nice mild vanilla notes mix with a light graininess in the aroma giving way to a similarly easy vanilla and grainy flavor. Ok.
