3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (7379) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 10, 2010On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of vanilla, cotton candy and bready. Taste is straight cream soda. Dry with a lightly bitter finish. Also a slight acidity in the finish that I noticed with several other Thirsty Bear beers. Possibly dirty tap lines? Medium bubbles. Overall I enjoyed this despite a possible infection from the lines. Earlier Rating: 8/9/2010 Total Score: 3.2 On cask at the brewpub. Description as told to me by the manager. This time it was dryhopped with one of the Goldings (cannot remember if it was Styrian or EKG, but last week’s was Amarillo). Pours with no head over a murky golden body. Aroma of orange, citrusy, herbal hops with a nice grainy back bone. Taste is grainy, orange, tangerine rind, and light biscuit. Some diacetly and a touch acidic in the finish (infection?). Medium bubblesfor a cask with a buttery/slick palate.

The vanilla comes through well, giving it a sweet effect. Quite nice, but perhaps not drinkable in large quantities.

Nothing to write home about but smooth tastes like vanilla and not afraid to compete with
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lusikka (4039) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 14, 2012
Draught @ Thirsty Bear Brewing Company, San Francisco. Rated on 13.10.2012.
Pours a golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of really strong vanilla and candi syrup. Flavour is completely taken over by the vanilla. Notes of sweet sweet marshmallow, candisyrup and hay as well. Light bodied and smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Quite an unique beer.

Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Vanilla and cream soda on the nose with a strong grainy note. Mild grass and some water, maybe a little yeast. Flavor is sweet from the vanilla. A bit of cream soda, some grainy sweetness, mild bitterness, and a definite grassy hop flavor. Kind of watery, too.

Aroma has lots of vanilla and hints of fruits. Flavour is dominated by vanilla. It has also some hay and wheat. Quite odd – but somehow I like it.

Interesting brew, somewhat refreshing. Sweet vanilla aroma, more sweet vanilla taste, overall too sweet.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Frank (2188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2012
This is bright orange in color w/ a small white head. Vanilla is mild in the nose but tastes rather strong and rich. It is a slightly malty pale ale or blond underneath this but the beer really serves as a delivery vehicle for the flavoring here. It’s tasty enough but not really great from a beer lover’s perspective.
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 sloshgator (171) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 18, 2012
A very unique ale with vanilla flavoring that goes to the edge of going too far. Unconventional, some might not appreciate the flavor, but I found it quite refreshing.
