Bobsy (196), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 2, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Very dark body, with a small white film capping it off. Figs and alcohol in the nose. Lots of rich fruit in the flavour, along with caramel, hops and some spice. Really pleasant on the palate with a surprisingly crisp finish. A great seasonal.
Delirium (433), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 20, 2008 Draught. Pours dark brown-black with a very small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, roast malt, alcohol, some dark fruits, and some earthy hops. Flavor is semi-sweet caramel, against roast malt and bits of fruit, plus alcohol and earthiness in the finish. Not too sure what to think of this one. It doesn’t quite have the strong malt character of a good bock, but it’s pretty interesting nonetheless. bb (2131), Martinez, California, USA Jan 17, 2008 Draft. Rich busy beer with a nice light tan head. Light roast, light caramel aroma. Caramel, light roast, slight earthy flavor with some plum fruitiness. Medium body. Caramel lingers with some plum. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Dec 25, 2007 Tasted on tap at Brewpub. This dopplebock pours a deep brown color. Small sized white foamy head.
