Draft flight 3/23/05 (Brewery)-Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma of malts, chocolate, and coffee. Taste of the same with a bit of licorice. This full bodied brew was well balanced and goes down easy.

A great stout. Easily the best we've had from Thirsty Bear. Pours a beautiful thick black with a tan head. Smells like nutty vanilla. Taste is nutty, creamy and extremely thick. Had a slightly bitter finish. Paired with Point Reyes blue cheese, it smooths out the bitterness and brings out the sweetness and nuttiness. Makes it tastes like a ice cream stout. Great. Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught @ Thirsty Bear Brewing Company, San Francisco. Rated on 13.10.2012.
Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, tobacco and strong ash notes. Flavour is pretty similar; roasted malts, really strong tobacco notes, grassy hops and dark chocolate. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel and a bitter finish where tobacco comes through even more than before. Good.

Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Lots of roast, a pronounced acidity, and some earthy hops. A fair pint of coffee, some coffee grounds, water, and a light chocolate note. The flavor is bland and watery. Some roasted malt, a mild bitterness, maybe some chocolate, and a bit of earthy hops. A light fruit note on the finish.

Aroma is roasted with coffee and licorice, Flavour has coffee, slightly salty licorice, hints of peat and ash. A bit watery but good. Best of their draught stuff at that time.
