Bottle from??? who knows it has a grand rapids sticker on it and I don’t remember the last time I was there. Pours a dull copper with a big billowing head. Nice spicy aroma, spice/fruit cake. Flavor follows very much like a spiced fruit cake, bit of alcohol and bitter bite. A bit too much spice though.

On draft. Cooper color with little off white head. Cinnamon and nut meg aroma. The taste is similar and ends slightly bitter. Lovely beer.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Received in trade from a non-RB member. The pour is a standard looking amber tone with a standard looking off-white head. But then the aroma really jumps out at me with is ginger and Rosemary characteristics. Toasted malts too. The body is medium. The taste has the same herbal quality as the aroma with a decent malt note and a thin finish. But I enjoyed it altogether.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The 12 Dogs of Christmas pours a fairly clear rusty amber with a small beige head that doesn’t last long. the aroma is overflowing with various spices. I can pick up cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger to go with caramel and bread. The flavor is caramel initially with ginger and nutmeg also present and cinnamon shines in the end. Overall this is a decent brew.

bottle. Brown with small head. Sweet with lots of holiday spicing -- perhaps a bit too much. A little syrupy and overdone.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle - This dark brew has a lingering off-white head and an aroma of caramel and dark fruit. It tastes of sweet caramel malt and spices with a roasted finish and a little chocolate. It’s full bodied and pretty good.

Pours amber brown. Nose is all honey and obviously some winter spice. Taste is lots of honey with a large dose of ginger. Mouth is medium. Overall an excellent winter ale. 8.3abv yet very drinkable. Definitely one of my faves. Sorry Great Lakes!!!! I still love your beers!

One of my favorite Xmas ales because of the copious, but nicely balanced use of ginger. My sister brought me a six pack for xmas and I was pleasantly surprised.
Very drinkable, you dont realize your drinking an 8.3 percent beer.
I need a road trip to Akron to try on tap.

Love this Christmas ale. It’s a mild beer with a pressing spice flavor on the finish. Gong down its smooth and light, perfect for the holiday get togethers and for doing by the fire.
