I received some of this as a Christmas present. and Just re-unearthed from the unused garage fridge...I fear spoiled beer. The pour is a cloudy orange-ish color, with a small fast dissipating white head. The pour has a pretty good number of bubbles raising up from the glass. the Aroma is sweet mild hops with some fruity overtones. The flavor is bitter, and earthy. Lighter body. An interesting beer. I would like to try it on tap somewhere.

pours from the bottle a hazy iced tea color topped by a thin whitish head. strange fruity aroma is hard to nail down... there’s lemon and grapefruit for sure along with flowers and sweet grain but i can’t place the other fruit. the palate is sweet... similar to they way sweetened tea is. the flavor is tannic, lemony, grainy and grassy but finishes with a weird sourness that seems out of place. medium body, dry and crisp. prickly mouth feel from the carbonation.

Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a fizzy head. Bitter, grainy aroma. Grain and caramel taste. Medium bodied. Not bad.

Oct. 2007 - Orange brown pour with almost no head or lacing. Chunky yeasties in the bottom. Flavor was light caramel, sweet with a bitter/sour finish. There were also some notable citrus aspects, sweet overripe grapefruit. Very disappointing from a brewer that I love their other offerings....

Pours dark golden with a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, nuts, and sticky wort. Taste is malty, toffee, nuts, sticky bread and herbal hops. Mouthfeel is full bodied and lightly sticky with moderate carbonation.

jcr (2165) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - FEB 5, 2008
Cloudy, dark golden pour. Short white head. Strong aroma of sweet malts and grain (sweetened breakfast cereal) with big notes of caramel and apricot. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Watery texture. Sweet, caramel and honey-like finish. This is really close to being a very drinkable beer, but the sweetness gets to you about half-way through the bottle.

wickedpete (634) - Lexington Park, Maryland, USA - JAN 12, 2008
Amber color with a short head that fades and leaves only a ring of bubbles at the edge of the glass. The aroma is warm and malty. Caramel and a hint of spice come through. The flavor is very malty sweet. Caramel, sugar and a bit of buttery flavor shows. This is quite nice actually.
