2.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. This one comes out hazy golden with no head at all - turns to slight lacing in only 10 seconds. Nose is actually of corn and biscuits, very macro brew like and not nice. Sweet malts dominate the flavor of this one and it is done well. High carbonation and surprising body and thickness as it glides down the throat. This one finishes with just slight hop bitterness along with that sweet, tongue coating malt. Decent beer, but not fabulous.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Another Thirsty Dog offering with a distinct caramel flavor. Not what I expected from a ’Golden Lager’, but worth a try. Only my second taste from Thirsy Dog, and will continue with a strong tradition of a recommended beer. Balto is something more than the regular and expected and, with that in mind, definately welcome.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2005 I found this beer to be sweet but yet very smooth to drink since it’s like a typical watery lager. The carbonation was lively and the aftertaste was not bad.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Color is golden, and cloudy. Aroma is lightly sweet chocolate, with a lager softness. Flavor is pretty much the same. Abrupt finish. Not very refreshing though. A decent, run of the mill lager.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from the bottle with a decent sized tan colored head. Medium sized body, with a hoppy bitter aftertaste. Surprised this was a Vienna. Thought it was a hoppy lager. Not bad, nothing special though.

this is a great beer most won’t get to try this but if you ever see it buy it it is a slighly sweet caramel lager that that has a smooth taste and very pleasant aroma

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This one left me with a good impression however it was a bit in limbo and here’s why. The aroma was that of sweet caramel. The flavor though wasn’t what I was expecting since I had OLH first. Like OLH and it’s strong chocolate flavor this one lacked the strong caramel flavor. It is there you just have to find it. Still it’s one I could get more of.
