2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle - Poured a golden amber n color with a very thin white head that faded very quickly to almost nothing. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel and hops; although nerither is very pronounced. Flavor is slightly hoppy with also some malty sweetness. Finish is lightly bitter with some lingering sourness. An OK beer, but certainly nt my favorite

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not as good as I expected. Too sweet (in a stale-sitting-around-too-long sort of way). Not my cup of tea, but I have 2 of their other brews sitting in the fridge and I’m hoping that they’re a bit better.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a pale gold with a small ring of white foam. Aroma is slightly sweet with a bit of macro-ness. Flavor is mildly hoppy, rather thin, and also has some malty sweetness. Actually pretty refreshing after a 34 mile bike ride.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Beer is a clear medium orange-amber color with a small, frothy, beige, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. The aroma is malty with light-to-moderate notes of toasted grain, toasted nuts, light cookie and caramel; Hoppy with a moderate note of herb, light-to-moderate note of resin/pine. The flavor is moderately-to-heavily sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic with a long, slighly warm, moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Balto has a roasted malt aroma and is a golden color with an off white head. The head is quickly diminishing. The taste is of caramel and no hop flavor is present.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rated 7/13/06: Quality brewer, decent lager. Aroma is crisp and light with a minimal scent of pale malt and a nice sweet kicker. Bottle says there is a caramel presence and I’m sure this is what I’m smelling, pleasant. Poured a rather dark golden color with a medium amber tint, great color. Minimal head that diminishes and very little lacing, rather disappointing. Flavor is sturdy and very good, I’m not a huge lager fan but there is enough involved with this one to hold my interest. Dry and slightly malty the amber malt and caramel blend in nicely. Crisp and dry there is a clean mouthfeel with a mildly sweet finish. This beer complimented my sausage pizza real well, for what it is it’s a decent beer. Overall I like more complex and heavier beers but this is nice for it’s style.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Good orange golden color with a small amount of head on top. Aroms is a wheat and honey goodness. Flavor is not nearly as good. A somewhat leafy uninspired mix with a palate which could use a tad more of a mouthfeel.
