1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
From bottle. Ugh, yuck. Way too sweet and fake for me to even finish. Ended up being a drain pour.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. This is my first Thirsty Dog. First time I’ve seen it at Greens. Light brown with a hint of copper and almost no head. Not much in the aroma but what is there is very sweet. Flavor is too sweet - a bit of malts and a bit of hops but not that good - very processed. Not impressed by my first taste of this brewery.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark amber, with a nose of caramel and malt. Flavor is similar, though a bit sweeter than the nose would indicate. While the flavors are good, they don’t linger long on the palate and the mouthfeel is a bit too thin. Otherwise, a worthwhile Oktoberfest.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. My expectations where not met.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A-pours a transparent golden ornage color with a full creamy off white head.
S-the nose seems off, a fair bit of grain with slight toasted notes, caramel malts as well, however, there is some acetaldehyde giving it a sour green apple aroma.
T-the flavor is more of the same, the malts are good but the acetaldehyde gives it this off flavor. the grains, hints of toasted grain, and caramel seem to blend together and nothing really seperates as if it were meant to blend together.
M-medium body and syrupy with a lively finish and soft feel.
D-can’t get over the off sour green apple, not a fan of that flavor and I don’t think it should be there.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a pale amber with an off-white head. Sweet toasted malt aroma. Taste is also a sweet buttery toasted malt. Mild hop bitterness. Good example of style.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle from The Party Source, tasted on September 1, 2010. Medium amber color with good clarity, small off-white head, sweet malty aroma with some unwelcome chemical notes, smooth texture, nice toasted malt flavor tempered by some bitterness--not all of which was pleasant. Still, not bad overall.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a deep coppery amber with a little bit of a head and that lovely Oktoberfest combo of aromas: grainy malt, honey, dough, apple juice, nuts... as a self-confessed hophead, I’m not sure why I find this style so charming. First sip reveals a very sugary and nutty take on the style. There is a ton of caramel and maple syrup with pronounced nutty edge to it. Very nice as it just skirts the border between cloying and good...
