Originally reviewed: 1/13/10. This was a new offering at my local store recently. Wierd. I didn’t see this in the fall when all the other Fests were out. Wonder why this decided to pop up now. Huh. On to the beer... Poured into my pint glass. Pours a very clear pale orange with a small white head on top. Retention is weak, but it left some nice sip rings anyways. Sort of a dirty scent eminates from this one. Dull earth, old veggies, and a light caramel scent on the back end. That’s different. Nice creamy body. Easy to drink, and a pleasing feel. Flavors of mild toasted crackers at the onset, light toffee in the middle, and finishes mildly bitter, but with a touch of sweetness. Aftertaste is sort of fruity. Hop bitterness is low in this one. I’m not sure what I think of this one. I’ve had better Fests, no doubt, but this was a decent beer for sure. Some characteristics I didn’t like, but others I did. Try it for yourself.

Bottle. Sweet malt and a tart cider like aroma. Orange amber with a minimal head. Sweet caramel malt flavor, and a bit of vegetal bitterness in the finish that leaves an odd aftertaste (quinine?). Light to medium, lightly carbonated body.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours light amber with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is sugary malt. Near med body. Flavor is grain with a slight toffee aspect. Sugar lies beneath, but there’s enough hop to almost balance. Worth it for the label.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, grain, leaves, and toasting. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. A few medium-sized particles throughout. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, grain, toasting, corn, and a hint of garbage. Light to medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, grain, toast finish.

Bottle. This is about typical for most autumn beers. Poured a middle amber color. Fairly typical aroma and taste for an October beer. Nothing to get excited about.

Pours translucent dark orange with quickly fading pale head. Faintly sweet and malty nose. Similar taste with a nutty finish. Good carbonation and a bit of a lingering bitterness and warmth. Octoberfests are hardly my favorite, but this seems like a decent representation. Only complaint is that its a little too sweet.

This was a pretty terrible beer. Not too much sweet flavor, almost tasted old and stale. Unenjoyable, it is a shame we bought a case.

12 ounce bottle from Bella Vino in Athens, OH. 4400th rating! Pours a clear golden-copper color with a large tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and bitter hops. The taste is toasted malts, caramel, bitter hops, some faint banana-like fruits. Thin-medium bodied.
