3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Amber pour, foamy white head. Grain and toast, nutty, biscuit, herbal, light caramel. Medium-full, quite sticky. One of the less impressive offerings I’ve had from Thirsty Dog.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle in improper glassware - nose is floral and caramel with toast. Easy to drink. A little too sweet. Go Big Blue!!!! Makes me think of a mild doppelbock.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear medium amber pour with a red hue. Very nice head and lacing that lingers. Very slight nose of sweet caramel malt. Light medium body and well carbonated. The flavor profile is laid back, as a marzen should be. It has a very nice balance of caramel malt sweetness and flavor with just a hint of hop bitterness. The carbonation yields a crisp finish identical to the flavor profile. Thirsty Dog is becoming one of my favorite breweries. Another outstanding offering that is true to style.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Light biscuity aroma. Clear, medium brown pour. Flavor is stale, malty, and earthy. Filling mouthfeel. The malt flavor is not pleasant.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of bread and some caramel. Rather tasty with caramel, molasses, and grain balancing the sweetness. Creamy mouth feel. Very nice beer!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle thanks to queenholly. Part of a side-by-side-by- side tasting. Clear copper pour without any lace in a lager glass. Roasted grains, fall leaves and German yeast in the aroma, nice. Flavor is toasted caramel malt, yeast, and light herbal hops. The caramel malt sweetness lingers a bit in the finish. A little thin in the body. Pretty ok and really is what the style should be.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good for the style; a transparent caramel with fluffy off-white head. Smells sweet, malty, and doughy. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The pour is surprisingly cloudy. Roasted malt and a hint of orange in the aroma. Very tasty! Full body, a lot of butterscotch followed by a touch of citrus sweetness. Hops provide a dry and slightly bitter finish.
Really yummy. Immediately one of my favorite Oktoberfests

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle. Aroma us a sweet caramel with a hint of molasses. Deep malt character that is well balanced with a tiny hint of spice in the back end. Palate is fairly thick, a really good American oktoberfest.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a clear copper with a thin white head. It has a slight spicy aroma with hints of earth and hay. It tastes medium sweet with a hint of bitter. The body is thin with crisp texture. I’m not a fan of Oktoberfest beers and this one doesn’t really help. It isn’t a beer that I’ll remember or even try to recall.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Trying to get in some marzens before the season is over and had never tried this one before. Pours a clear amber with no head. Faint aromas of spice and malts. Flavor is par for the course for marzens. Lots of malts and a bit watery but tasty.
