12 oz bottle. Amber pour, foamy white head. Grain and toast, nutty, biscuit, herbal, light caramel. Medium-full, quite sticky. One of the less impressive offerings I’ve had from Thirsty Dog.

12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, 2014 release. Pours fairly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toast, toffee, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toast, toffee, biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with no cloying sweetness after the finish. Very clean malt flavors with minimal yeast esters present. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest style. All around great robustness, balance, and complexity of clean dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours clear golden thin white head. Mild aroma, malt heavy aroma of bread, hay, nuts. Medium sweet taste. Finish is sweet and abrupt. Hops mildly present. Overall an ok Oktoberfest.

From bottle. Amber color. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Taste is similar, fairly sweet. Could use a touch more light hops to balance.

Seems to be a fairly solid oktoberfest - sweet, malty and easy to drink. Finishes a little to rich, but fine enough.

High on the malt marzen. Caramel notes add a thick but not overly sweetness to it. Light bodied but sticky. Some spices and a lot of tree; pine and oak. Hop is throughout but it blends nicely with the other flavors. Pretty balanced, decent.

This beer was from a bottle. It has a red brown appearance with great taste and aroma. I will try this one again.

Bottle. Thin white head dissipates quickly. Clear amber color. Cereal in the nose. Malt, heavy toasted biscuit up front. Effervescent, malty finish. More toasted than most Octoberfests I've tried. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear dark runy amber color, thin head cover, strands of lace. Taste is malt with a little wet cardboard in the palate, turning very lightly bitter in a medium finish. It is drinkable, but nhor really a keeper.

Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a clear orange with a small off-white head. Notes of toasty and and sweet and crackery malts, straw, and leaves. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Simple, and one of the better Oktoberfests I sampled at the fest.
