Bottle from Half Time. Pours light amber with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is sugary malt. Near med body. Flavor is grain with a slight toffee aspect. Sugar lies beneath, but there’s enough hop to almost balance. Worth it for the label.

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. My expectations where not met.

12 ounce bottle from Bella Vino in Athens, OH. 4400th rating! Pours a clear golden-copper color with a large tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and bitter hops. The taste is toasted malts, caramel, bitter hops, some faint banana-like fruits. Thin-medium bodied.

Sample at Winking Lizard. The beer is a clear golden-orange color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and caramel plus a touch of hops. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, mild hops and a touch of yeast. The finish is short and sweet with a malty aftertaste. Pretty straightforward Oktoberfest beer overall.

Bottle. Lactic caramel malt aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet caramel malt and bitter/acidic flavor. Rough - not really a beer I’d want to session.

phaleslu (6555) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a clear orange with a small off-white head. Notes of toasty and and sweet and crackery malts, straw, and leaves. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Simple, and one of the better Oktoberfests I sampled at the fest.

5oz taster on tap at Cincinnati Beer Fest. Totally clear orange / amber color. Good bigger off-white head. Caramel malt, breadiness in the aroma. Good lace. Medium body, smooth lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate bitter taste. Solid oktoberfest.

Happy Halloween! Nice amber color, but not much of a head. The aroma is pretty stark for an O-fest, bready and almost sour. This drinks with a distinct buttery, muffin-like sweetness, not at all in a pleasant way. Not diggin’ this one. (#3724, 10/31/2009)
